Today, organizations increasingly need to develop their leadership. Leaders are critical to organizational functioning and success in the short term; they are also responsible for creating sustainability and change through planning for and balancing the longer term.

The aim of this course is to act as a sampler to a customized leadership development program targeted within organizations. In this course, selected strategic development opportunities are provided to showcase methods of developing middle and senior leaders that in our experience have proven highly successful in developing significantly better leader behavior. In this public course, we showcase our leadership development methods we typically use to fit your organization’s mission, vision and values, culture and challenges for bespoke training design.

In this workshop, highly participative and fun experiential games will mirror the conditions of organizations today: ambiguous, uncertain and complex. Transforming mindsets, exploring feelings and developing new perspectives in a guided learning environment will stimulate managers to examine old habits and begin to re-frame them on their journey to becoming better leaders.

Expected Course Outcomes

As a result of this program, the following outcomes are expected:

  • Plan their leadership vision and ideal leadership behaviors and test those in a safe games environment

  • Practice developing their leadership behaviors in various games simulations that represent how to lead in complex uncertain situations

  • Learn selected tools for making decisions under conditions of ambiguity

  • Set personal development action plans to transform their leadership

  • Apply coaching techniques and receive coaching on their development plans from their peers


In 2011, John was retained by Bayer AG of Germany to deliver their Leadership Excellence program across Asia Pacific. John was the preferred English-speaking trainer for the region for the past 21/2 years. In this role he has trained over 200 managers through 6 days of leadership workshops and one-on-one telephone coaching including debriefing their 360 survey report. The focus of the program was development of a common leadership culture embracing the LIFE values of Bayer.

Additionally, John runs public workshops in leadership using his research and professional skills to design and deliver engaging programs that build leadership capabilities needed today by senior executives. Prior to this John was retained by Human Capital Singapore, the Singapore Govenment Accredited Human Resources Continuing Education and Training Centre to write, deliver, and develop key Chief People Officer Graduate programs on Talent Management and Succession Planning. John has been retained by Imperial Consulting, representing American Management Association programs to write and deliver programs and consulting services for them on Leadership and Talent Management across the Asia Pacific region.

John holds a PhD in Leadership Psychology from Monash University Autralia, an MSc (Asia Pacific Human Resource Management) from National University of Singapore. John is a Certified Chally Talent Analyst and Executive Coach.
